The company intervention in the maize value chain can be categorized into two main groups, pre harvest intervention and post-harvest intervention:
• The pre-harvest project objective is to support smallholder farmers to increase maize productivity by providing agronomic services, preparation of farms using leased agriculture equipment’s/machineries, supply of high quality maize seeds, fertilizer, other inputs necessary to enhance agriculture productivity and extension services.
• The post-harvest project objective is to support smallholder maize farmers for harvesting and provide sustainable and high quality full packaged storage facilities including drying, sorting, grading, handling, packaging and all other costs related to harvesting. In addition, the company will support farmers for processing maize to various products and marketing maize through Tanzania Commodity Exchange and other regional commodity exchanges.
